THIS month’s Isle of Wight Walk for Prostate Cancer UK will be dedicated to the memory of actor Geoffrey Hughes, who died, aged 68, after a battle with the illness.

The fifth annual walk, organised by John Fraser, who has also had prostate cancer, will be held on Easter Sunday, March 31, starting from River Road car park, Yarmouth, at 11am.

Walkers are encouraged to wear their pants Superman-style on the outside. The walk, which is expected to take around three hours, follows the coastal path through Fort Victoria Country Park, Brambles, Colwell to Totland Pier, through to Freshwater and back via the causeway.

Mr Hughes started the popular walk from his wheelchair in 2011. He was one of Britain’s best-loved actors.
