BROMLEY Council has been provided with a grant enabling it to convert one of its vehicles into a major incident control centre.
The £5,000 sponsorship, provided by mobile phone company One 2 One, came after council officials identified a shortfall in the Emergency Planning budget.
Councillor John Holbrook, Mayor of Bromley, said: "We have a responsibility as a council to plan for a major disaster. This sponsorship enables us to respond to any emergency in a more effective way."
Regular Emergency Planning exercises and analyses are undertaken by the council to ensure the best measures and response possible.
