NEITHER Isle of Wight rival operator plans to follow Wightlink’s shock decision to introduce its winter timetable nearly two months early.
News Wightlink services would be reduced on all three routes was greeted with dismay by passengers but the ferry company said it had no option but to take a difficult decision to ensure the future of the routes.
The winter timetable will now come in on September 17, instead of November 5.
Red Funnel confirmed its winter sailings would still start on November 4 and Hovertravel said its winter timetable would begin on October 1, as planned.

if wightlink didnt charge so much to use there ferries maybe they would carry more passengers i often use the fast cat to visit the island and get an all inclusive ticket with the buses and trains which is good value but now they are going to an hour service wont be doing it so often as the train i get to portsmouth gets in 10 mins after the ferry goes so rather than having to wait 15 mins for a ferry i have to wait nearly 50 thanks wightlink for ruining it for me and making a place i love visiting harder to get to a quick note to hovertravel please please can you reintroduce the all inclusive ticket for the hovercraft and buses which you use to sell but have stopped selling
