The Island Steam Show at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Havenstreet.
HISTORIC traction engines and cars, dramatic stunts from BMX riders and skateboarders, and a falconry display were just some of the attractions enjoyed by thousands of visitors at the 38th Island Steam Show.
The Bank Holiday weekend extravaganza at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Havenstreet, was supported by the Isle of Wight County Press and Wightlink.
It featured parades by military vehicles, musical steam engines and the show’s traditional funfair, as well as train rides hauled by the railway’s historic locomotives.
Brightstone-based escapologist, Greg Chapman, appeared in the main arena and there were dance displays from the Bloodstone Border Morris, the Men O’ Wight, the Oyster Girls and Guith Carnival Morris.
Railway general manager, Peter Vail, said business increased by 17 per cent compared with last year.
He said: "In terms of visitor numbers, it was one of our best shows ever. It went like a dream this year. We are obviously delighted with how it went."
