Walkers set off from Sandown on the Walk the Wight flat walk . Picture by Jennifer Burton.
BRILLIANT blue Isle of Wight skies greeted the thousands taking part in Sunday's annual Walk the Wight.
The Earl Mountbatten Hospice fundraiser has attracted more than 10,000 entrants this year and they will be aiming to match last year's £300,000-plus for the hospice.
Some people will be taking to the Newport-Sandown cycletrack for the flat walk while others will be taking the 26-mile challenge of walking from Bembridge to The Needles or just half of the main route.
Although the ground is still wet under foot in places, sunny skies should make for a pleasant walking day.
