WIGHT Energy has joined St Catherine’s School’s 70-mile sponsored bike ride.

The City to Solent Bike Ride Challenge, on Sunday, September 23, will see cyclists ride from Oxshott, Surrey, to Portsmouth to raise money for young people with speech, language and communication needs.

The event is now in its third year and has previously raised more than £15,000.

St Catherine’s will use the proceeds from this year’s ride for further therapy equipment and support The Worx, its vocational training unit.

The ride has been sponsored by Wightlink for the past three years and the charity is keen to have more companies enter a team of riders.

St Catherine’s is a national charity and its residential centre at Ventnor, with a specialist main school and further education centre, offers intensive speech and language therapy and vocational training.
