MUSIC legend Stevie Wonder performed a mesmerising set on the main stage as thousands of Bestival revellers gathered for the Sunday night headliner.

The American icon wowed the crowds, before a spectacular fireworks display lit up the Isle of Wight sky to mark the closing of the Bestival main stage for another year.

Stevie stole the show and had thousands rocking to his classic hits including Isn’t She Lovely, Signed Sealed Delivered, and crowd favourite Superstition, before closing with Happy Birthday.

It was billed as one of the best ever Bestival coups and the superstar didn’t disappoint as party-goers danced to his incredible set.

During his time on stage, he paid tribute to his late friend, Michael Jackson, and delivered several poignant messages to the crowd about his hopes and dreams for a better world.

The super-talented star, who mixed it on keyboards, synthesizer and harmonica, also had time to slip in a cover of the Beatles classic, She Loves You and John Lennon’s Imagine.

In the build up to the main stage grand finale, Icelandic rock giants, Sigur Ros pumped up the volume with a memorable exclusive festival set.

Earlier on in the day, hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks had everyone dancing as they made their Bestival debut. They performed tunes including Down with the Trumpets, When I was a Youngster and Mama Do the Hump.

Cockney Duo Chas and Dave had an old-fashioned party at the Swamp Shack and turned on their East End charm to the delight of fans.

Totally Extinct Enormous Dinosaurs showcased their various sub genres of dance music in the Big Top, before Kate Nash had everyone singing along to Foundations, in the Replay with Rob da Bank Arena.

DJ Jaguar Skills and his amazing friends had the Bollywood tent jumping, while thousands gathered to watch an outstanding performance from Bestival favourites, Friendly Fires and Orbital, inside the Big Top to cap a wonderful Sunday at Bestival 2012.
