FORMER police officer Dave Stewart has been re-elected as leader of the Conservative group at County Hall.
Cllr Stewart, Isle of Wight Council member for Chale, Niton and Whitwell, was appointed following a vote at the group’s AGM last month.
Ryde member and town mayor Cllr Wayne Whittle was appointed deputy leader and Cllr Chris Whitehouse is to continue as group secretary.
Cllr Stewart said: "We are working on projects to secure inward investment for the Island and we are supporting the campaign against the ludicrous increases in parking charges which is hitting businesses, households and tourists are the economic equivalent of the Isle of Wight Council cutting off its nose to spite its own face."

The Conservatives did nothing to secure inward investment. They lost most of it and spent money to pay private companies. The only people working hard on this have been one or two Councillors and the Trades Unions for AAS and strategic funding....and we know who ratcheted up car parking charges don't we?
