WAR heroes, serving military personnel and the Queen were celebrated during the fourth Armed Forces Day on Saturday.

A parade along Ryde seafront involving war veterans, serving men and women and cadets, was followed by a special drum head service, in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

A display of military vehicles, a Proms in the Park concert and a fireworks finale also featured.

A flag raising ceremony was held in Newport today (Monday) to mark Armed Forces Day.
