Walkers take part in Walk the Wight 2012.Picture by Jennifer Burton.
THOUSANDS of walkers helped to make yesterday’s (Sunday) Walk the Wight a success.
Around 10,500 people registered in advance to take part in the 26 mile walk across the Isle of Wight, with another 1,500 thought to have signed up on the day.
Held in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, the walk has helped to raise thousands of pounds for charity over the last 20 years.
Among those taking part in this year’s walk was a team from the Isle of Wight County Press, dubbed the Miss Prints made up of features editor Lorraine Parker, features writer Sue Lupton and deputy chief photographer Laura Holme.
Sue said: "It was a fantastic event and brilliantly organised.
"I have spent half the day with very sore feet, but it was well worth it."
