RAIN and high tides could lead to flooding in some areas, the Isle of Wight Council warned this evening (Tuesday).
A council spokeswoman said: "Residents on the Isle of Wight living in areas prone to flooding are advised to take appropriate precautions to protect their properties.
"The Met Office is forecasting rain overnight, this combined with high spring tides has the potential to cause coastal flooding in some areas, particularly tomorrow lunchtime (Wednesday)."
Earlier today the police issued
advice for drivers.
The Isle of Wight Council has made sandbags available for collection from:
•Cowes: St Mary’s car park
•East Cowes: Well Road roundabout/junction with Castle Road
•Ryde: Westhill Road/junction with The Strand
•Binstead: Pitts Lane
•Yarmouth: Long stay car park
•Newport: The junction of Quay Street/Sea Street
The council said tomorrow’s (Wednesday) high tide times were:
Cowes: Wednesday 0103 and 1318
Ryde: Wednesday 0042 and 1301
Yarmouth: Wednesday 0010 and 1229
