AN RNLI lifeboat was called out yesterday (Wednesday) to help a yacht stuck in the mud.

The yacht Solus ran aground in Newtown Creek, with two adults and two children onboard, after its anchor dragged in the muddy seabed.

It was freed by the Yarmouth RNLI Lifeboat shortly after 12pm.

It is the second time in two weeks a yacht has become stuck after dragging its anchor in Newtown Creek.
