THE SECRET behind England's 3-0 thrashing of Portugal at Wembley may lie in the support of a local lad. Terry Holsgrove, from Abergeldie Road, Lee, had his dream come true after he led the England team onto the pitch on April 22.
The 14-year-old, a pupil at St Thomas More School, Eltham, was the winner of a competition in the Evening Standard sponsored by Snickers. He was able to meet his favourite player Michael Owen and, watched by 63,500 cheering fans, carried the Snickers Fairplay banner, symbol of a programme run jointly by FIFA and Snickers which aims at improving fairplay in the game, onto the pitch.
