FUN in the mud was had all round for current and former players of Sandown and Shanklin RFC at The Fairway last weekend.
Rather than postpone their annual fun match, the club decided to carry on regardless and in the end, a great time was had by all.
Both teams had big, and strong, squads, making for a very competitive game, ideal for the first team as they look to start the year in London South West 3 with a bang.
In the end, it was the first team who prevailed, with tries from their man of the match Matt Jones, James London, Dan Muir, Luke Chandler and Will Baxandall. Muir and London kicked conversions.
For the Exiles, tries were scored by their man of the match Jaryd Robinson, with two, Kern Wales and Ben Allman. Neil Buckingham kicked one conversion.
Sandown and Shanklin get their league campaign back under way tomorrow (Saturday) with a trip to Eastleigh.
