WIGHTLINK Raiders have not rested on their laurels and have started building a squad for the 2012-13 season this week.
Just ten days after finishing their English National League campaign with defeat in the play-off semi-finals to Chelmsford Chieftains, the club’s management announced player-coach Jeremy Cornish would be returning to lead the side.
And today (Tuesday), Cornish announced his first signing, Welsh power forward and last season’s second-highest penalty taker, Corey Watkins, from Invicta Dynamos.
Corey, 22, scored 24 points last season, but racked up 142 penalty minutes thanks to his uncompromising style.
