DUATHLONSTEVE Gratton has qualified for the World Age Group Duathlon Championships.
The Wight Tri/Wightlink member, who only took up the sport three years ago, has qualified to represent Great Britain after finishing fourth in the vet 55-59 category of the Cambridge Duathlon.
The event comprised two 7.5km runs with a 40km bike leg in the middle and he finished in 2.21.40.
The World Championships take place in Nancy, France, in September.
Meanwhile, junior member, Cohan Tyler, 17, and super vet Liz Dunlop competed in the Ringwood Triathlon.
The event comprised a 600m swim, 28-mile cycle leg and a 10km run.
Cohan set new PBs in all three disciplines, finishing in 2.26.52, to finish third junior and 48th overall.
Liz was tenth woman and first in her age category (vet 55-59), finishing in 2.37.37.
Both are now training for the Milton Keynes Sprint Triathlon in May, which is a British Championship event as well as a qualifier for the Age Group World Championships, taking place in Auckland, New Zealand in October.
Over the Easter weekend, new member Alan Purves took part in the Radley College Good Friday Novice Triathlon in Oxford, finishing 11th out of 105 competitors, in 44.35.
Wight Tri hold its final duathlon on Sunday at Grange Chine Farm, Brighstone, with registration at 9.30am for 10am start.
