I'M a huge fan of Marks & Spencer food so when a new range of cuisine is introduced I'm one of the first in line to try it, writes Debra Aspinall.

Their latest selection Share the Taste of the Orient features truly authentic far-Eastern flavours.

The recipes were designed by renowned chef Peter Gordon who leapt to fame in the mid 90s with his unique Pacific Rim-style fusion cooking. He ran kitchens at the Sugar Club in Notting Hill and, more recently, The Providores in Marylebone.

He draws on inspiration from travels around South East Asia, India and Nepal, his childhood in New Zealand and his childhood in Australia.

The range is beautifully adaptable offering snack-sized portions (all priced either £3 or £2.50) which would be great for lunch or as a starter. Add together several packs and you have a delicious buffet of Thai, Chinese and Japanese treats.

Our favourites were the potato and sweetcorn fritters the vegetable tempura spring rolls and the hoisin duck pancakes with hoisin sauce. The Sticky ribs and chicken satay would make a great meal with rice and the Thai style green chicken curry puffs and Malaysian style vegetable Wontons would spice up any buffet.

Follow the heating directions to the letter and the products come out as crispy and as tasty as they would straight from Peter Gordon's kitchen. Another winner from M&S.
