Built in the 1920's, this substantial character home exudes quality and charm in an abundance of space. It really does befit the saying 'they don't build them like this anymore'! Sitting on very generous grounds and with a great deal of privacy. You are short walks from both beautiful countryside walks and Appley beach. As soon as you step foot through the front door, there are a number of impressive period features down to the finest of details. The windows are a fantastic feature which really gives the house a feeling of elegance of grandeur, that flows throughout the house and into the conservatory which is a wonderful, sociable family space stretching nearly to 30'. Even with all the fantastic living space, downstairs is not finished as you can really give your guests their own space with the very well presented sleeping accommodation. Any aspiring chefs will be delighted with the "Smeg" range cooker and the openness of the layout to entertain their guests. The first floor is completed with 4 double bedrooms, although one is perfectly put to use as an office. The master offers a surprisingly spacious en-suite and even a bath tub to ease away the stress and strains of the working day. To top it off the loft has been converted into a studio that is a fantastic size, probably the biggest loft room I've ever seen. Everything said, this house is truly one of a kind and a little piece of Ryde's history. A viewing is essential to really appreciate this stunning home.
What the Owner says:
This has been a great family home for 32 years. Built in the 1920's, by Mr Kirk who lived here so it was built with care, love and lots of individual touches.
Over these past 32 years we have modernised the house with the same consideration from the large conservatory to the kitchen, but made sure it is all in keeping with the character of the home.
I will miss absolutely everything about the house, but the time has come to downsize.
