The game opened with a fantastic score by Jack Wedderkop, thanks to a great midfield carry by Michael Barrett and a beautifully set pass by Ant Burr.

George Finan scored the second — making the most of a move straight from the training ground.

Burr left the Chichester defence cold with a superb 'chip and chase' to touch down.

It didn't take long for the Hurricanes to add a try bonus point onto their points tally in Counties 2 Hampshire.

Efficient forward play by Ben Booth, led to Tom Marriott and Sam Rees making it 24-0 score.

Barrett scored the team's fifth by luring Chichester's defenders away, allowing Matt Miselbach to bypass the winger and score the sixth.

The last score of the half came by Luke Wedderkop, taking the score to an intimidating 43-0.

The second half unfolded much like the first, with Zak Chiverton, Barrett, and Ben Shannon securing the first three scores, taking the scoreline to 69-0.

Barrett carried the momentum from the previous victory by scoring the 11th.

Hurries fans cheered as Miselbach provided an opportunity for Josh Braham to run over.

They continued their momentum when Rees drove over with a 'pick and go'.

Wedderkop converted a perfect pass from Marriott to score yet another, then Ash Smith notched up the 15th try using raw speed.

The Hurricanes hit three figures with Damian Seder putting in the second row's Miselbach to sprint in from half-way, despite carrying a foot injury.

  • Sandown and Shanklin II picked up their first win of 2024 — a 57-10 victory over Chichester III on Saturday.

Despite late discipline problems, the Hurricanes put in an excellent display of rugby, making it a great day for the club, with particular notable performances from Liam Little, Chris Ormerod and Michael Cooper.
